The Fireman is an enemy in the Castlevania series. It is a man whose entire body is engulfed in flames.
Description
The Fireman is the first fire elemental enemy to appear in the Castlevania series. It is a man whose body is entirely engulfed in flames. He either throws fireballs that roll along the ground and that cannot be blocked with a shield, or sets small fires on its path.
Appearances
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
First appearance of this enemy in the series. Called Flame Throwers, these enemies are encountered about midway through the game, in the Devious Woods. They pace back and forth at moderate speed and throw fireballs in an arc which roll along the ground when they hit the floor in such way that they cannot be blocked by the shield. They are a bit resilient and the pattern followed by their projectiles means they cover most of the area in front of them, so ranged attacks are recommended.

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Firemen are flaming figures that pace slowly, leaving small flames on the ground that will burn the player should they touch them. Even though these fires can be jumped over, these enemies often appear in very narrow spaces, usually making it safer to wait until their fires burn out.
In concept art in the Castlevania Anniversary Collection, it is described as a "Lava Beast" that leaves a burning path behind as it walks.
