The Moon Rod is scepter adorned with lunar markings. It is Alucard's most powerful Cudgel in both Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. It has a special attack that summons five large crescent-blades behind him, which then travel forward across the screen. A similar special attack called the Crescent Cutter would later appear in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls.

Trivia
- The Moon Rod is based on the Moon Stick from the manga and anime series Sailor Moon, where it is used by the eponymous superheroine to execute many of her special moves.
- In Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the Moon Rod can be used to farm EXP by defeating Guardians in the Reverse Clock Tower.
